Boy where to start...Stayed in Santa Maria for several years after graduating working at verious jobs none of which were life changing, bartender,leadman for Simco a drill bit manufacture, union sugar, Lockheed and verious furniture movers.
Moved to Bakersfield but again did not find my lifes passion, but managed to play some baseball with the Dodger's single A club, and work in the oil fields.
Took up bowling and turned professional in the 70's and still continue bowling to this day only as a Senior PBA member. I have managed to compile a pretty good record in the bowling ranks being rated as one of the top 100 bowlers in the nation. I now hold 64 perfect 300 games, and managed to throw two of them back to back on television (that was a thrill but sure would have love too have the 3 rd one that day). Boy kind of jumping all over the place here.
After leaving Bakersfield went back to moving furniture where I met my mentor in the Communications business and continue to do that to this day in Las Vegas Nevada for the past 32 years.
I have a wonderful wife we celebrate 38 years together this July the 4th. Cheri writes and teaches as a side line helping people from all over the world to realize how important they are and how each person is unique unto themselves.
We each have children from previous marriages. My one and only offspring is Murray Hickman III and he has managed to bless us with 2 grandchildren Korbyn who is now 23 and Alex 21. Korbyn just made Cheerleader at her new High school and is an A student. Alex is just a chip off the old block loves sports, and has just taken up bowling wow a natural talent, must take after his dad who in his own right is a 220 average bowler. So now I have to look over my shoulder as I have to bowlers chasing me for family high average which is 243 for a season (but that was on a house shot and not on tour).
On my wife side there is Jen she is the intelligent one, graduated from New Mexico State with honors and went to work at Intel. Then there is Donald he is a physical fitness trainer and has a wife Bern who is a school teacher and they have blessed us with 2 grandchildren Sierra she take after her mom soooo smart at the age of 6 sends us emails with all the grammar and spelling correct. And then there is Sterling just 3 but full of pep and vigor very hard to keep up with him.
Had I known that the Grand-kids would be so much fun I think I should have had them first....
Our telecommunications company has gone through many changes, it started as Communications Plus then changed the name to Hickman telcom, we provided several hundred customers with telephone equipment and cabling. We changed the name one more time to reflect what we really do which is complete communications solutions, Diversified Communications Solutions Inc., we have for several years provided, designed, installed and repaired Telephone systems that now include VoIP. We also have a full service Computer department to include the building of servers, PC's and managing networks and Cabling department that includes Copper and Fiber optic's. And with my wife's help we will be a driving force for many more years to come.
