I am hearing that some of you would like to have the reunion in the Summer (end of July? August?) or winter in September or October. Could you please add a message and give us your opinion? Summer dates are disappearing...we need to make a decision...PLEASE HELP US WITH YOUR IDEA FOR DATE.

While I seem to be very busy, I'd carve out some time for this one.  It just seems that for our 50th we should all be together somewhere.   Thanks for making the effort.

Hi All,

Regarding the date for the re-union, I will not be able to make it if it is in July or September.  My wife has an art show in Washington state on July 6&7, and from about July 13 through the 31st  we will be watching our grandkids in Iowa while their parents are on a cruise.  My wife does two art shows per year - one in July and the other in September (21 & 22 I think!).  So those months are pretty well out for us.

Thanks,
   Dan Gracia

Thank you to all working on our 50th reunion!  September on the central coast is so lovely, that September would be my first pick and October second. Let’s have the whole thing at Avila like the ol’ days!!

Wine tasting is always good. Love supporting the Ostini’s at the Hitching Post!  But, really planning these things is not easy and plans may not please everyone. I agree with Ron, it will just be great to get together especially for those of us not living in Santa Maria. I am in land-locked Colorado and am planning on attending!!

Thanks,

Paula Harkness

Thank you to our classmates who have volunteered to coordinate, not always an easy task. I hope to be able to attend, and I deeply appreciate your efforts to bring us together! I say that at this point in our lives, the simpler the better. We just want to see each other again. Thanks again.

YES.  Let's keep it simple.

How about this:  (I will be most happy to help out on this one)

Locate a facility with outdoor and indoor amenities. Plenty of tables and chairs

Plan an all day event to be able to come anytime of the day or night.

This way, we can all just hang out as long as we want and plan to

meet friends during the day or evening.

          8:00am - 10am   BREAKFAST

from coffee pastries to pancakes, eggs and bacon.

         12:00 - 2:00        LUNCH

light lunch:  sandwich and/or taco bar

          3:00 - 5:00        SNACKS AVAILABLE

7:00                 SANTA MARIA BARBECUE!!  The works!

Again, I will be most happy to help.   I can be in town a few days before and get to work.

September is the best for me.  Will give me time to: lose weight, fix my teeth, get a hair transplant,

file for divorce, get permission from my parole officer to leave the state of Idaho, borrow enough money

for a bus ticket and get a new shirt.    LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!   THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

I am very intrested in coing back  for Oklahoma for reunion.  The July or August with my job would owrk better,

I am not sure what I could help with from here, but I would try.

Hope you can all get to together as we are are getting older and it would be great to see all of us together one more time.

I like Eddie's idea. I would add a cocktail party somewhere on Friday night and a tour of SMHS somewhere in the mix. The weekend of September 15 would not work for me as my niece is getting married that weekend. Any other time would be great by me, I will make sure I can make it.

Thanks for planning a 50th reunion! I'm glad that we'll get to celebrate this milestone as the class of 68. Late September or October would be best for me.  Sonja Erickson (Welander)

Yeah, the 50th is a must go.  Half a century, for cryin out loud.  Provided I am breathing and we're not in another financial meltdown, I'm coming (like driving 100miles is hard to do).

Hoping we can find a date that works for most everyone.  I'm not available October 4-14, but would be available in August and September.  Would love to see everyone that's able to make it.  The cocktail party on Friday night was a lot of fun when I was at the 41st reunion, and wine tasting, Hitching Post, SMHS tour are top of my list.

Open all summer except week of August 14.  Taking niece to college.  All we need to do is find someone to watch cows and deer.

I wanted to thank Bev Spuhler-Vietor for driving so far to our 50th Class Reunion Meeting at George's house. Thank you George Johnston for opening up your beautiful home to us and to your wife (Barbara) for answering the door and making refreshments! Thank you also to Tommy Martinez, Pam Cordero, Susan Harney (Moats) and Norma Johnstone (Engle) for all of you support and taking the time for making this the best ever class reunion!  We will be having our next meeting at George's on February 21st at 6:30pm. We could use some more helpers if you have the time. If we all pitch in, it will be fun and a pieceofcake! We have picked a date of August 24th, 25th & 26th. We really paid attention to all of you who made comments about dates to avoid, so your feedback worked. Having it in June or July was not available due to venues already being booked.

Start contacting your class mates with the dates of Aug 24-26....make plans to come to SM.

Help us by providing us classmates email, address and phone numbers.  Many of us have retired, moved, closed down email accounts from work and thus are "lost".  We want to contact everyone...you can join us in this effort--- phone from the comfort of your home.  Give your old childhoold friends this website.    THANKS...

Wow!  So cool.  Glad the Committee has set a date.  I will definitely try to be there.  I have had some health issues since the holidays, but as soon as I mend up a little more, I would be happy to help out some too.  Many thanks to those working on this..
